Jaycee Member SpotlightPaula Heyer -member since 2002-current
![]() Why did you get involved with the Jaycees?
I was working out at the YMCA and a Jaycee member asked if I wanted to play on their sand volleyball team. Soon after the Jaycees needed me to play softball in Brainerd at their State Softball Tournament and we camped out in the middle of a forest-the bugs were HUGE. Next, I attended a Jaycee meeting and I have been involved with the Jaycees ever since.
How many years have you been a Jaycee and the positions that you have held?
Seven Years, Chairperson and Co-chair on many projects and I have held the positions of Secretary, Community VP, and 2007 President, 2008 Chairman of the Board and 2009 IDVP and MN Program Road Run Manager.
What do you like best about the Jaycees?
Opportunity to network with lots of people in the Mankato area and also Jaycees from around the world!
What is your favorite project?
Mankato Area Jaycees Sandbox Fill-this was my first project to co-chair. This project not only provides the community with a helpful service of filling children’s sandboxes but it raises money to support local causes.
What else are you involved with besides the Jaycees?
I am a league bowler and I practice regularly in preparation for Jaycee State Bowling in March! If not on the lanes, I will be working out at the YMCA. Call me, we can go to the Butts N’ Guts or Express Body Sculpt class together! |
