The tips that were earned from the Old Town Summer Fest and Brewfest were combined to donate a total of $1,000 to The Miracle League. The Fallenstein will be a barrier free handicapped and wheelchair accessible softball/baseball field with a cushioned, synthetic turf built according to NWSA standards.
Mankato Jaycees Upcoming Speakers
Each month at the general membership meeting we have a speaker come in and talk about a variety of different topics ranging from improving your writing skills to how to sleep better to drinking responsibly. Our goal is to enhance your leadership abilities and develop our professional skills.
May 12th General Membership Meeting
Carey McLaughlin, adjunct English professor at MSU, will be doing one or two writing activities to get people thinking creatively, etc. Carey also runs the "Meet on the Porch" writing retreats in town.

April 28th General Membership Meeting
Bryan Stempka, Talent Initiatives Director at the Greater Mankato Growth, will be talking about the 2009 Mankato Professional Leadership series. He will answer- What is this? Why it is helpful for people in leadership positions? And possible scholarship opportunities.
At our Februrary Meeting we had Kirk Overass (current Jaycee member) from JL Swanson Chartered CPA's talk about the 2007 Tax law changes and tips for filing your taxes.
Yoga for Busy Professionals was presented at our January 28th,
2008 meeting by Mona Ceniceros, owner of Sun/Moon Yoga Studio in Mankato.
On November Meeting we had Mark Kluender speak. Mark is the Employee Development Coordinator at South Central College and spoke about diversity in the workplace and shared with us a variety of statistics to increase our awareness of the diversity around us.
At our October meeting our speaker was Real Estate Agent Aaron Gardner from Realty Executives. He shared his words of wisdom on the real estate market for renters, potential home owners and current home owners. Aaron is a current Jaycee member and he can be reached at aaron@yourhomemyhelp.com
